The Biggest Question ….
You are probably wondering, “Are franchises a good investment?” The simple answer is yes, especially if a great opportunity presents itself.
This is not to say that buying a franchise ensures immediate and long-term success. In reality, owning a franchise still requires a significant amount of effort, and there are some disadvantages to starting a franchise, such as adhering to the brand's standards. The recurring success of a franchise, on the other hand, far outweighs any inconvenience.
The most difficult stage of running a business is probably the beginning, when you must write a business plan, conduct market research, create a minimum viable product, test it, and then scale (if testing goes well, that is). If you buy a franchise, you can skip this section: The method has already been tested and proven to be effective. It is now up to you to implement their strategy in your market.
So, owning a franchise allows you to be your own boss. This is a sufficient reason for those who ask, "Are franchises a good investment?" Because being the boss has its own set of benefits, such as the ability to create a more flexible schedule and a new level of control over one's professional path and work/life balance.
AND .. Franchisees receive ongoing assistance from the franchisor because the franchise brand is actively engaged in the franchisee's success.
Simply put, one of the benefits of investing in a franchise is that you own a business with a support structure to rely on when you need it the most. This can pay for itself.
Does A Munchkin and Me® Franchise make sense?
YES, without a doubt!
Munchkin and Me® has steadily grown over the last four years. Despite being a brand new-start up at the time, Munchkin and Me® survived the covid pandemic and has gone on to grow and thrive! And in 2023 we were proud to launch our West Norfolk Franchise with Kayleigh!
We are of course, still living in uncertain economic times; we understand that this might be daunting for you. However, we believe, that with our “magic recipe” for running classes, combined with your energy, enthusiasm, kindness and hard work, your business will have the potential to grow and fly!
We understand that your goal, as with any other business owner, is to make a profit during the term of the franchise agreement. You will want to be able to sell the franchised business (should you choose to do so)at a profit at a time that is right time for you.
We know that ….
Unprofitable businesses are difficult to sell &
The more profitable the business, the more money a franchisee would receive from a future buyer.
So be assured that Munchkin and Me's® growth hasn't happened without investment and innovation; and that is why we are confident in your prospects as a Munchkin and Me® franchisee.
Our founder, Rachel, has put in a lot of time, effort, and financial investment over the last four years. Resulting in:
⭐️ A new website
⭐️ A Customer Records Management (CRMS) and online booking system

⭐️ Producing a portfolio of stories and session plans

Franchising provides an exceptional opportunity to self-employment. Here are just a few of the elements that make the industry so special and unique.
Work for yourself: You will be supported and surrounded by a network of like-minded individuals who are all going through the same thing.
A proven business model: Whilst success cannot be guaranteed, a franchise provides a level of reassurance, showing the business model does work.
A lower failure rate: Franchising has a significantly lower failure rate vs when going into business alone. on average, over 40% of standalone businesses fail vs less than 5% of franchisee businesses.
Your franchisor has already made the mistakes, so you don’t have to!
Work in something you are passionate about: Franchising could enable you to turn your passion into your career.
Invest in your future: Franchising is an investment in your future, with many franchisees in the industry handing their business over to family members or selling their business for a substantial profit when they are ready to retire or move on to pastures new.

A franchise business is a commercial association contract entered into by two or more independent and legal parties.
A franchising agreement requires the two parties to mutually agree to provide products or services using the franchisor's business model in exchange for a fee.

NO - franchisees run their own businesses, which is a fundamental principle of franchising.
Franchises are not a branch or subsidiary of the franchisor's business, but rather a completely independent enterprise subject to the restrictions and obligations outlined in a franchise agreement and operations manual
-
The initial franchise agreement is for a period of five years. But do get in touch with us, we would be delighted to chat with you.
This is renewable for a nominal fee at the discretion of the Franchisee (you), provided certain criteria are met. These criteria are outlined in the contract, which you will receive a draft of during the application process.

Do get in touch with us and we can give you more information and explore your requirements and ambitions.
-
Regular weekly classes last at least 36-weeks per year, but you will not be limited to this.
You may wish to run specials during the school holidays, but there is no contractual obligation to do so. This is the flexibility of the self-employed franchisee.
-
YES - holiday workshops, parties, 'one-time' events, and merchandise sales all generate additional profit, and your franchise fee entitles you to operate all of these opportunities from the start.
-
Munchkin and me franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds, and a formal teaching qualification is not required, nor is a business track record.
Many people turn to franchising because they have no prior business experience and want to 'partner' with a team that has a proven track record of success.
Full training and support are provided for the Munchkin and me business model, and you will only need to demonstrate how you will manage the more 'local' and 'general' business issues that you may face, such as local IT and accounting - this could be as simple as acknowledging the need to pay a local 'expert' to assist with these functions.
-
YES.
Both of you will need to apply as joint applicants and you will both be expected to attend all the training and comply to the Munchkin and me contractual requirements.
-
Training and Support
You will have access to a comprehensive training programme that will teach you everything you need to know to run the franchise successfully. Most franchises offer both initial training and ongoing support.
You will also receive assistance with advertising and marketing as part of the franchise package.
It can be difficult for a new independent business to establish a customer base, but your small franchise will be part of a well-known brand that is promoted both locally and nationally.
Less Risky
If you start your business through a franchise, it is less likely to fail.
This is due to the fact that you will be embarking on a tried-and-true business model that has been refined over the years as the franchisor has gained industry knowledge and experience.
Funding
You are more likely to secure funding from banks if you open a franchise business than if you start an independent business from scratch because you’ll be seen as less of a risk.
Work Locally
The majority of small franchises can be run from home or locally. This means that startup costs are lower and ongoing overheads are almost non-existent. Because no additional employees are required, the costs associated with employees, such as insurance, are eliminated, making it easier to turn a profit in a short period of time.
It's also a great option for investors who want to avoid the dreaded morning commute - whatever works best for you and your ideal working environment.
Work Part-Time
When you purchase a franchise with an affordable franchise fee, you will most likely be able to run the business part-time. This will allow you to earn extra money while investing in your future. This is far more profitable in the long run than simply getting a traditional part-time job to supplement wages from a full-time job.
It also means that you can arrange your work schedule around your personal obligations. So, whether you're a new mother looking to spend quality time with your child or simply want more control over your working hours, opening a small franchise unit could be a wise investment.
Is the Model for you?
Small franchise opportunities also allow you to test the franchise model before deciding to expand your business or commit to a more expensive option. Starting a business can be intimidating, so starting small with the option to expand alleviates some of the fear and uncertainty that more expensive franchise opportunities can bring.
-
Things to consider:
Are you able to afford the initial franchise fee and working capital?
When are you likely to make a profit and;
Will the profit you generate be enough for the lifestyle you are realistically looking to achieve?
-
So you know whether you’re going to start a Munchkin and me franchise, but how much is it going to cost to set it all up?
This will all be covered in your conversation with us before you start your franchise.
What we can say is that it is challenging to tell you exactly how much it will cost to set up, as the price is dependent on so many factors, including how many children you’re planning on catering to, the size of your premises, and the equipment you’re looking to use.
Some of the costs you may need to consider include;
IT and office equipment
Standard equipment and furniture
Risk assessments
Initial stock
Setup and inspections
Branding and Trademarks
Marketing
Initial training
In addition to the set up costs, you will need to look at ongoing costs, too. This will include:
Premises rental cost – dependent on area and square footage
Insurance – make sure you’re fully covered
Also;
There are strict health and safety requirements that you will need to adhere to.
Additionally, you will need to ensure a health and safety policy is in place to demonstrate how you will conduct:
Risk assessments
Fire safety and risk
Reporting injuries
Evacuation procedures
Maintenance
Storing and handling hazardous substances.
These may appear daunting, but you will be fully supported by your Franchisor who has a proven track-record in achieving all the above.
