At Munchkin and Me we believe in the importance of sharing stories.

Our mission is to introduce storytelling to children from birth, by providing an exciting play-along, sensory, story experience, designed to support early development. We also want to support the emotional well-being of the parents and carers who attend by encouraging invaluable friendships to grow and develop..

Through Munchkin and Me, we believe passionately in being available to babies, toddlers, parents and carers. We aim to provide you and your Munchkin(s) a happy, safe and secure place to nurture a love of fun and interactive storytelling. And, We want to help grow happy and supportive communities of parents and carers across Norfolk and beyond!

Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Munchkin and Me will work with you to recognise and support your child’s development and learning.

  • Support babies and children to develop and start to understand their senses of self, and the world around them.

  • Embrace your child’s individuality and work with you to be flexible and responsive to their needs at each session.

  • Create a community in which children experience a variety of cultures and can explore in a safe environment.

  • Signpost you to other support networks. Where you or your child feel you might require additional support.

  • Keep children safe in an environment created for fun and development.

Building Friendships

We believe in creating happy and welcoming communities

When a child’s parents and carers feel happy and safe, they in turn, will feel secure and develop confidence and independence. Munchkin and Me believe in a providing warm and loving sessions designed to foster a sense of belonging.

  • We provide sessions which are sensitive and responsive to every child’s needs, feelings and interest.

  • We believe in being consistent and setting clear boundaries so that all children feel safe and secure.

  • We ensure grown-ups know what to expect and how to get the most out of sessions for both themselves and their children.

  • We promote and encourage chat during the ‘free-play’ section of our sessions.

Safe, Fun and Welcoming Spaces

We believe in providing safe, clean and fun environments where your munchkins can play and explore

We feel strongly that children grow and develop in confidence in the right environments, and Munchkin and Me believe in:

  • Choosing safe, clean and welcoming environments where parents and carers can be responsive to all their child’s needs and where both adult and child feel comfortable and secure.

  • We offer stimulating props and resources, relevant to all the children’s cultures and communities.

  • We try, where possible, to demonstrate developmental play set ups and activities that can easily be replicated in the home environment.

  • We carefully select venues to offer safe, clean and stimulating environments.

  • Where possible we try to select venues with refreshements onsite or close by.

  • We try to offer venues with an outside space if possible; so we can take the story-play into the open air.

  • We ensure our venues are accessible to all and have public transport links where possible.

Learning and Development through play

We believe the ‘messier the better’ and fun for all

Children develop and learn in different ways. Our sessions provide a huge variety of fun activities that support and encourage learning and development in all areas of the Early Years and Foundation Stage Framework. We care about the needs of and will support ALL babies and children. We will adapt our sessions wherever needed to support children and parents and carers with special educational needs and disabilities.

We will ensure children are offered challenging, playful opportunities across the prime and specific areas of learning and development. Munchkin and Me will encourage early learning through a variety of approaches
